Intermediate:

A rider who has a firm and balanced seat, is capable of mounting and dismounting unassisted, is confident and in control at all paces (walk, trot, canter, gallop), but does not ride regularly. He or she has ridden several different types of horses and can independently manage a horse’s care.

Strong Intermediate:

An intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable in the saddle for at least 6 hours per day.

Advanced:

All of the above and capable of handling a spirited horse in open country. Their seat is balanced and secure, their hands are soft.

They are able to ride most horses including working with young/green horses.

The advanced rider is able to teach lessons to beginners, break and train horses and teach a horse advanced manoeuvres. The advanced rider knows horse breeds and conformation well and is able to detect unsoundness vs. blemishes in a horse.

"This is more than a riding holiday. A culturally enriching experience which gives the rider the opportunity to ride incredible Peruvian horses across epic landscapes, meet local people and observe the way of life in city, valley and mountains, sample delicious locally grown food and see the markets and farmers at work. Understand the complex history and culture of Peru. I came back a more confident rider and more knowledgeable about Peru and South America. An experience not to be missed."

Charlotte Deveroux - UK

"This is a trip of a lifetime! If you are looking to see an amazing country filled with culture up close and personal, this is the way to do it. The horses and tack are top notch. The hospitality will blow you away. Your every need is attended to by friendly, knowledgeable staff. Not to mention the food! We had the freshest, most elaborate meals served to us at every stop. We were so sorry to say goodbye. I felt like I was leaving family."

Marcelle Leblanc - USA

"From the moment Maria met us at Cusco Airport, we were swept up in a warm embracing hospitality, and every detail of the journey was perfect. The horses were a joy to ride, and we were well briefed in advance by Eddy for the challenges along the way. We saw spectacular scenery and daily life away from the tourist bustle. Maria prepared delicious Peruvian specialties, and always found an ever more beautiful place to set up the picnic tent. The grooms and driver were always on hand to make the journey seem effortless. My only complaint is that the time went by too fast!"
